A bespoke, design led wedding cake can tell a story. It can encapsulate who the two of you are; your heritage, your lives together, the things that make you tick and the stuff that binds you together.

Over the years, I’ve made hundreds of inspired wedding cakes that tell the tales of those I am lucky enough to make them for. From striking modern art centrepieces set up in boutique London hotels, to contemporary geometric, architecture-inspired edible art, take a peek at the cakes below in the gallery and see the stories that inspired them…

Cake Stories

As much as anything else at your wedding, your cake can tell your story and symbolise what’s unique about you as individuals and as a couple. Gone are the days when a wedding cake was a traditional fruit cake to cut signifying the first act you do as a couple. Your wedding cake can be an edible showpiece and should be every bit as unique as the two of you are. These are just some of the many stories I have helped my couples tell through their wedding cakes on their special day…

A modern geometric cake fit for both bride and groom

When I met Lucy at a wedding show, she swore out loud with complete shock when she saw my cake collection! She knew right there and then she was going to have to order a cake from me. Their super modern cake reflects the interior of the venue for their wedding Devonshire Terrace but also their own personal tastes. They didn’t want their wedding to be in the least bit traditional or girly and Lucy specifically wanted a cake that reflected both of them, rather than a ‘pretty’ cake that only represented a bride.

An edible centrepiece inspired by a special rooftop view

Mary-Anne and Simon found my cake designs and were immediately struck by my London skyline cake inspired by the artist Jason Lilley’s work. I met them for a tasting and design session on their very own city pad rooftop and could see why. They wanted the place where Simon proposed and where they share their life together to be depicted on their wedding cake, so I created their very own version of the London skyline cake taking inspiration from their navy blue stationery and added a modern look with a geometric tier to perfectly fit into their stunning venue, LSO St Lukes.

A modern cake inspired by a stunning dress

Teesta and Arun saw my signature design geometric cake online and decided this was the kind of modern spin they’d like for their wedding cake. The pink and gold on the cake and the succulents and flowers it features are inspired by Teesta’s stunning wedding dress. Set in the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Aldwych, the cake had centre stage in the middle of their dancefloor.
