Supplier Love Series: Lucky Pineapple

In this post as part of my supplier love blog series, I’m so excited to introduce you to Hayley Simpson. Hayley is the face and the brains behind probably one of the coolest and most creative businesses I have had the honour of working with. I created a cake display at her business launch party last year. When you see what she does, you’ll get what I mean… She is the creator of Lucky Pineapple mobile bars and cocktails serving at mobile events, gatherings and weddings around the UK. She took a trailer and transformed it onto an incredible oversized gold pineapple bar and to add to that has retro-kitsch mobile bars for indoor events too. Her kitsch, club Tropicana style and fun-time party vibes shine through in everything she does and I am her biggest fan. Read on to find out more about her and Lucky Pineapple…

Tell me about you! What’s your background, an unusual fact about you & your journey into the wedding industry?

Before starting Lucky Pineapple I did brand development & marketing for some very wonderful restaurants and cocktail bars. My heart lies in hospitality – I think it’s the most exciting industry in the world!

What do you love about your job? What job title would you give yourself?

I love creating memorable and meaningful party experiences for people – it is all I have ever wanted to do!

What inspired you to create the incredible Lucky Pineapple bar?

I’ve been lucky enough to be able to work on some super fun & creative hospitality projects over the years, but Lucky Pineapple was my first project going it alone. It’s been stressful (that never stops!), but it has never felt like a massive risk because I always knew it would bring people so much pure joy and fun… and it does! Lucky Pineapple started as our custom built trailer, designed to be a golden pineapple party prop and cocktail bar in one, but the brand has now grown to 2 bars in just over 1 year, as well as Lucky Pineapple Cocktail Club – our online shop selling beautiful cocktail boxes, gifts & glassware.

What’s different about the service you provide to others in your area?

Beyond our custom built one-of-a-kind mobile bars, I think the best thing about Lucky Pineapple is all of my career experience that has led me up to this point, as well as our obsessive attention to detail. From the super-styled and personalised cocktails we create, to the outrageously charming service we deliver – Lucky Pineapple is a very special experience that I love to share! In a world of horseboxes, be a custom-built golden pineapple I say!

What is your favourite part of the job & why?

Being included in people’s most special days, and making them even more special! Seeing people’s faces light up when they order drinks at the bar or taste our cocktails!

What’s the biggest bit of advice would you give to couples when planning their wedding?

  1. The devil is in the details! Personalise, personalise, personalise! How many lovely little personalised and sentimental touches can you build into the day? You will remember them forever, as will your guests.
  2. You don’t have to have a free bar – it’s a bit old school to be expected to pay for everyone’s drinks all night. It’s a very lovely gesture if you can, but if you can’t afford it – don’t worry!
  3. ENJOY the process! And if you’re finding it too stressful, get a planner. They are magical people.

What’s your favourite food (if you can choose)?

Dim sum and Chinese beer is my absolute favourite. Closely followed by tacos washed down with good quality tequila.

What is your favourite cake flavour?

It’s got to be lemon drizzle or carrot cake for me!

What do you do when you’re not working?

I love walking my dog Tali on Brighton beach, going to the gym, drinking all the negronis and margaritas with my favourite people & eating all the delicious food at my favourite restaurants!

What’s your most memorable adventure? Tell me all about it!

2020 & running an events business in Corona-times is the biggest adventure yet!

I think you’ll agree Hayley’s passion for what she does shines through. If you are looking for a heart-stopping game-changer of a bar and cocktail experience for your wedding or gathering, get in touch right now as she books up real fast! You can find her website here and see what she’s up to on Instagram.
