Oct 13, 2020 | Wedding | 0 comments

Really excited for this edition of my supplier love blog series. I’ve been looking forward to introducing you to a wedding stationer (some of my readers might know that I have a background in graphic design). Dimitria Jordan is a wedding stationer I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Read on to meet Dimitria, find out about her journey into the wedding industry and learn more about my chocolate cake twin…!

Tell me about you! What’s your background, an unusual fact about you & your journey into the wedding industry

I studied design at university, and my first job was in the licensing industry in London. I then working in the greeting card industry, until I found my true love in the wedding industry where I’ve been for over 5 years!

An unusual fact about me…. I have two different coloured eyes! My left is brown, my right is half brown, half blue 😉

What do you love about your job? What job title would you give yourself?

I love the variation of my job. My days could include working on designs for a client, admin, working on new designs for a Tailored Collection, packing an order, or working on a styled shoot to name a few things! Every day is different. I would give myself the job title of Creative Director.

What inspired you to create your company?

After working on a few invitations suites for friends and family, I realised that this was the industry I wanted to be in. The wedding industry is a special one, all about celebrating love and I feel privileged to be part of couples’ special days.

What’s different about the service you provide to others?

Each couple I work with has my undivided attention right from the very beginning. I want couples to be excited about their wedding stationery journey, and I ensure they love every part of the process until they arrive packaged in a pretty box! I believe providing a personal service really makes a difference, and I pride myself on this.

What is your favourite part of what you do & why?

Seeing a couple’s stationery design come to life from their vision is my favourite part. It allows me to get creative, and is the most exciting part of the process for me – working with different colours, print finishes and textures and seeing it all come together is so exciting!

I also love connecting with the many other suppliers in the industry, and from time to time working on styled shoots with teams of amazing suppliers.

What advice do you give your couples when choosing their stationery?

Choose a design that suits you both as a couple and don’t be swayed by others – choose something you love!

If you’re finding it hard to choose colours or a style, visualise how you would like your day to look and work back. Thinking of how you would like your on-the-day stationery in your venue to look to complement with your flowers, table linen and table settings will help you focus and decide on colours and styles.

What’s your favourite food (if you can choose)?

That’s a hard one! I love tacos, Chinese food…and my Dad’s Cypriot barbecue is also a firm favourite!

What is your favourite cake flavour?

Chocolate… anything chocolate is a winner for me, and is always my go-to!

What do you do when you’re not working?

I like to spend time with my family and friends, watch movies, and try new restaurants / places to eat.

What’s your most memorable adventure? Tell me all about it!

A sister’s holiday with my three sisters in Malta was a memorable adventure! We explored the beautiful island and its history, and also took the ferry to Sicily and explored Taormina and Mount Etna. It was amazing and full of laughter and good memories. I highly recommend visiting Malta and Sicily and hope go back one day.
