Cake Stories

A WINTER FLAMINGO CAKE

Samantha and Ollie wanted something a bit unusual for their wedding cake. It was to have pride of place in the reception room at the beautiful Hinwick House, Bedfordshire and would be seen from all angles, including above as the stairway was in the same room. They saw that I had designed a tropical summer version of this cake and immediately decided it was what they wanted. They chose autumnal dark green and evergreen ivy leaves, but couldn’t resist the golden pineapple on top! The cake itself had five different flavours and the pineapple was a traditional mini fruit cake.

A GEOMETRIC STUNNER…

Saskia and Brett had booked the gorgeous Charlotte Street Hotel, Soho for their big day and wanted something completely original and modern to wow their guests. They loved the geometric wafer paper look I had created
for the 2017 wedding cake collection and wanted a cake with contemporary styling featuring marble, pink and copper. Their favourite flavour was raspberry ripple, so they chose that as the cake for the largest tier.
They have a love of dinosaurs and requested I also place a bride and groom gold T-Rex on the cake as a topper as well as this stunning peony.

SIMPLY DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE DRIP…

I do love a good pub wedding reception. Amy and Adam were due to have theirs at The Lordship Pub, East Dulwich, so wanted a simple but delicious cake to fit their venue. The three flavours they chose were classic Victoria sponge, lemon and blueberry and the super popular raspberry ripple for the bottom and largest tier. Amy is the biggest fig fan, so I promised there would be figs as well as other types of pretty summer fruit and a few simple flowers to finish off.
